March 17th and 19th, 2014 saw two Concerts of Arwa Ahmed in Dubai, in which young musician Ganna Sorbat took part as a pianist and vocalist. Along with well-known songs performed by Ganna’s colleague Arwa Ahmed (composer, singer and guitarist), Ganna sang her own songs in English.
– Ganna, we are very interested to know the details of your presentation in a duet with the famous Emirati singer Arwa Ahmed. Please tell us how it all happened.
– The talented and well-known Emirates composer, singer and guitarist Arwa Ahmed invited me to perform with her on stage at one of the galleries in Dubai, as well as to take part in her show in the Dubai Heritage Village. I was delighted to hear the singing of Arwa and her guitar playing. Arwa is a very sensitive musician and she writes beautiful songs, especially in her native language, Arabic. Over the two evenings I had a lot of fun working with her. I also had the opportunity to perform my own songs in her concert and it was such a pleasure. The audience was delighted with our duo. People from the audience came to compliment us after the concert and really seemed to have enjoyed it.
