From the interview with Viktoria Gorelova

Ganna as a concert pianist…

Ganna Sorbat is an enterprising and successful performer. Among the performances in which Ganna has been featured as a pianist are “Video Games Live” (VGL), December 13th, 2013 in Sheikh Saeed Hall, Dubai World Trade Centre.

It was my first time playing the piano with the National Symphony Orchestra and with the choir of the United Arab Emirates, and in such a great show

– Ganna, could you tell us please what was your impression from the show “Video Games Live” in Dubai?

– Last year I participated in the VGL project as a vocalist with the United Arab Emirates Choir and National Symphony Orchestra. In December 2013 I was invited to take part in VGL as a pianist. It was my first time playing the piano with the National Symphony Orchestra and with the choir of the United Arab Emirates, and in such a great show. I especially enjoyed working with the great conductor Emmanuel Fratianni and collaborating with the composers and organizers of “Video Games Live” who were invited from Los Angeles to appear on the Emirates stage.

We were fighting and flying to meet the fortune at the same moment, as if we were all united in our efforts to achieve the same goal, like oarsmen in a boat…

– Did you have a chance to meet with the organizers of the VGL show?

– Yes, I met the organizers during our rehearsal on the day of the show. Creator and organizer of the project Tommy Tallarico is on tour all over the world now and he recorded the second album of “Video Games Live” recently in Prague with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. During our conversation Tommy told me he really enjoyed the audience in the Emirates and that he and his team want to come back here in 2014 year with a new show.

– Ganna, what did you feel during your performance with the UAE National Symphony Orchestra and with the collaborative team of musicians from Los Angeles in this show?

We were fighting and flying to meet the fortune at the same moment, as if we were all united in our efforts to achieve the same goal, like oarsmen in a boat…

Our orchestra performed the music from such Video Games as Metroid, Zelda, Mega Man and Liberi Fatale.
